This workshop is designed for people with a basic understanding of NVC who want to deepen their practice and integrate mind/body.
Psychodrama and Nonviolent Communication (NVC) will form a powerful, experiential pairing in this workshop setting. One brings action and embodied insight; the other provides a structured language for empathy and connection. Together, they will support participants in experiencing emotional truth and then communicating it skilfully.
What Psychodrama offers
Psychodrama is an experiential method in which your relationships with others are set out and explored in action. The aim is to discover and practice more creative and effective ways to communicate and resolve conflicts.
Key elements of the psychodrama method:
Accessing greater emotional depth
Revealing and changing old patterns
Building insight and empathy through role reversal, i.e., putting yourself in the other’s shoes
the enactments support you to embody, i.e., try out and integrate, the new learnings
What NVC offers
NVC assists you in developing greater compassion towards others and yourself, whilst learning more effective ways to communicate. To articulate and explore interactions in a grounded way:
“When you said…, I felt …”
“Because I need …”
“Would you be willing to …?”
This process supports you to experience new growth and empowerment in your relationships. It encourages you to be more authentic, whilst working compassionately towards a resolution.
Simon and Irma look forward to sharing this exploration with you.
