Floral Hammer Art

We have a treat for you – or more specifically: for your kids. It involves smashing stuff. With rocks. Or hammers. Or rolling pins. It's really fun – and, maybe somewhat unexpectedly, yields beautiful results.

“Flower pounding” or “floral hammering” is an easy approach to environmentally friendly art that even quite young kids can master. This is the perfect time of year to try it out; just collect a selection of the abundant flowers around and let us show you some methods for preserving a snapshot of early spring colours on paper or fabric.
