Mushroom Cultivation - Intermediate Level Workshop

With Matariki Mushrooms

Saturday, 24th February, 1pm to 4.30pm

Workshop Fee: $100

Limited places. Bookings essential!

At Riverside Centre

Matariki Mushrooms are excited to announce their upcoming Intermediate Level Mushroom Cultivation Workshop for those who have previously attended one of their introductory level mushroom growing courses, or who have a proficient level of mushroom cultivating experience and basic knowledge of fungi ecology.

The Intermediate Level Mushroom Cultivation workshop will focus on the following:

-       Mushroom growing on logs (using a native shiitake strain)

-       How to clone and store fungi via liquid culture method (Pekepeke-kiore, native lionsmane)

-       Preparing your own dowels for log-growing

It will also skip a lot of the basic theory (fungi ecology) which participants would previously have learned already in their introductory mushroom growing workshop, and it will be more hands-on. Participants will get their own jar containing liquid culture to take home, as well as the log they have made. Afternoon tea will be provided.

Pre-purchase of your spot is required please. Please note, by registering and paying the fee you will be agreeing that you will not use the strains we provide you for commercial purposes.

For more information about our (Matariki Mushrooms) kaupapa, please visit our website at www.matarikimushrooms.nz or if you have any questions about this workshop, please contact us. Because we are focusing on our mycoremediaton services this year, this may be our last workshop for a while. We hope to see you there!
