About the Event
A wonderful opportunity for your children to “clown around” ... under professional guidance from Barbara Knewitz
Children will play fun games, rehearse little clown acts, put on face paint and perform a little show for the parents at the end of the workshop. Dive in, play, laugh and stretch yourself. Kids will explore games that make them laugh, inspire their imagination and maybe even reveal their clown persona. Facilitated in a fun, supportive environment with exciting challenges for everyone.
We encourage you to join in the fun by wearing your most colourful clothes for this workshop. If you happen to have a clown costume at home, even better!
Barbara studied acting and theatre pedagogy in Berlin. She has worked on various projects with people with disabilities, students at elementary school and in holiday programs. She was also part of a children's circus program that toured Germany for many years. She is enthusiastic about the creative process with the group and the use of different methods. It's not just about the result or performance, but much more about the group dynamics, the development of the children's creativity and social learning and last but not least, of course, having fun.
Barbara has lived in Mahana with her partner and two children for four years. Here she dedicates herself to working with pregnant women and their families, teaching antenatal classes and working as a doula. Her love of theatre and circus lives in her, and she looks forward to working creatively with your children.
This session will take place in the octagonal meeting room at the Community Centre. If you have some time afterwards, why not bring some snacks and enjoy a bit of free play outside?
Limited to 10 children. Bookings are essential. Bookings close Friday, 13th September at 2pm.
