About the Event
Bread: the product of baking a mixture of flour, water, salt and (wild or commercial) yeast.
The earliest evidence of bread baking dates to approximately 10000 BC. For millennia, then, humans have been drawn to sweet and savoury crusts…
Fast forward to 2022; breadmaking is practised in any country capable of growing or importing wheat. This has led to the evolution of a diverse range of breadmaking processes designed to deliver a wide variety of bread products. Yet, we could argue that what the supermarkets offer is not only overpriced but increasingly bland.
The fact is: it is considerably cheaper to make your own bread than to buy it – and there is absolutely no comparison in taste. Add to that the absence of artificial additives and plastic packaging...and home-baked bread becomes a no-brainer.
