About the Event
Introduced and conducted by Tania Corbett, Kī-o-rahi is a traditional Māori team sport based on the legend of a courageous chief named Rahi, who whilst out on a rescue mission encountered many challenges to overcome.
Join us at the Riverside Oval at 1.30pm to hear the mythical story about the origins of Kīorahi and then out on the field as we re-enact elements of the legend through game play.
Played on a circular field, this game is both as exciting to watch as it is invigorating to play.
$6 per participant. For children 7 years and older.
This Adults and Kids workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (education@riverside.org.nz) to discuss sponsorship options if you are struggling to meet the workshop fee.
