About the Event
Join us this month for a unique bonding experience with the special young person in your life, as our adult & child workshop centres around weaving Catalan trays using sustainable materials. You'll learn the art of weaving, a valuable green skill while fostering a deeper connection with a young person in your life.
Craft sturdy and functional Catalan trays in this beginner-friendly workshop, ideal for displaying bread, cheese, fruit, or for use as grazing boards. Traditionally woven with willow on robust hazel or willow hoops, these trays have a distinctive and charming appearance. We will use an eclectic mix of foraged natural materials, including a versatile collection of twigs, providing a unique, attractive, and sustainable finish for your baskets.
Weaving offers a range of developmental benefits for children and adults, including enhanced patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Improve fine motor skills and engage in a calming activity that can help children improve their focus and concentration. By learning and practising this skill together, you'll also strengthen your teamwork and have lots of fun together.
Completed trays are perfect for displaying on the wall or as table centrepieces when not in use.
In the case of favourable weather, the workshop will take place outside; however, a cozy heated indoor space is available in the event of rain or cold.
Limited to 6 adult-child pairs. Sponsorships available (just ask). Bookings essential!
