About the Event
Here is another opportunity to spend some quality time with a young person in your life while learning about edible plants in your environment.
Kids tend to have a much closer connection to nature than us adults and often a keen interest in what is growing along the side of the path. Being able to identify what's edible and what's not is a very useful skill and empowers our children to move towards environmental awareness and self-sufficiency. Plus, it is fun!
Meet Tanja at the Centre and take a relaxed walk through our beautiful Riverside, gathering various edible plants (some you may think of as obnoxious weeds!). You will be surprised at what ends up in your basket :)
Make pesto from what you have gathered (we will provide supplementary ingredients), and finally, go for another walk to have a bonfire, cook some dampers and eat the pesto you just…
