About the Event
With Ellen Appleton of the Midnight Elves!
Time to get out the craft materials, be creative, pick up some new skills and do something fun and a little different.Â
Needle felting has had a resurgence in popularity – and so it should! It is a fun, satisfying craft that allows anyone holding a felting needle to sculpt a fluffy piece of wool into a unique 3D mini sculpture. The process is straightforward, forgiving and super versatile. There is no mess involved – and because all you need is a bit of wool, a felting needle and a small piece of foam, this is a very portable craft.
We are fortunate to have Ellen as a tutor for the first time. Ellen has years of experience felting with the midnight elves, creating beautiful 3D objects for and on behalf of the Steiner community.
In this hands-on crafty workshop, participants will be introduced to the technique of needle felting, choose from a wide range of colours, and start creating. They will be inspired– and if they haven't finished their project, they will walk home with their own felting needle to keep right on felting! If you have a particular project in mind, please contact Tanja (education@riverside.org.nz0 to see if it will be feasible.
All of our workshops, but particularly the craft sessions, are a great way to connect to others in a relaxed atmosphere, learning a new skill together. We want you to focus on your creativity, so we provide all the necessary materials. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Limited to 8 participants. Bookings are essential. Bookings close Thursday, 5th September at 2pm.
This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.
