About the Event
Come and join Pato of "Rainbow Kitchen" for a couple of hours of culinary fun - expect lots of tasting and plant based, healthy delicacies!
Pato grew up in Chile and came to New Zealand 8 years ago with his partner, Tereza who is from Czech Republic. Pato has been cooking since he was 12 years old, making food and selling it in his neighbourhood. He has awesome memories of being in the kitchen and learning from his Godmother and mother.
Rainbow Kitchen is a small family business based in Lower Moutere, run by Pato and Tereza. Their adventure started in April 2019 at the local Farmers Market in Nelson and now they sell their pies in organic stores around NZ. Pato has since won a number of awards at the Vegan Pie Awards for several of his pies. Pato, Rainbow kitchen's taste inventor, believes that eating and living consciously is leading to a healthy community and healthy planet.
While he will be focusing on empanadas rather than pies during this hands-on workshop, the philosophy and care with which he approaches the process remain the same. High quality ingredients, carefully selected and sourced as locally as possible and lovingly handmade food that nourishes body and soul.
Please note that the empanadas will NOT be gluten free.
