Enter a sacred space to connect consciously to ourselves, to earth and to great mystery. Ancient sounds that evoke primal memories… Didgeridoo, drums, native flutes, rattles and Māori Taonga Puoro… natural objects such as breath, leaves, stones, bones and shells… and nature sounds from the Australian and New Zealand bush. Sika plays intuitively from his beloved collection of instruments. Participants will often feel the vibrations in their bodies as he moves around the space. The haunting and unusual ‘voices’ of unfamiliar instruments such as Māori Taonga Puoro add to the sense of mystery and help us drop into meditative, wordless states. Sika’s Sound Journeys are held with the intention to support inner growth, awareness and acceptance. To let go, explore, time travel and dream. A deeply relaxing – and often transformational experience. Sika has been offering Sound Journeys for over 25 years and has the blessing of many Maori, Native American and Aboriginal elders, including the Yuin tribe of South Australia. He’s deeply humbled to share their instruments with people around the world. Sound Journeys are open to everyone – consider yourself welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket to lie on. You may also wish to bring a cushion for your head, a water bottle and a journal. A limited number of spare yoga mats are usually available at the centre – first come first served. Doors open 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.
