Join us for Building Belonging, a powerful evening of story, theatre, and conversation exploring women’s lived experiences of housing — from struggle and resilience to creativity and hope.
Performed by the Tell Tales Collective, this Playback Theatre performance transforms real stories into improvised scenes on stage — spontaneous, moving, and deeply human. Each story is offered by someone in the audience and “played back” by the actors through movement, dialogue, and music, creating a shared reflection of our collective housing realities.
This special event is part of the Women Revolutionising Housing Hui and the Housing Futures Forum, where we explore new ways of creating affordable, sustainable, community-focused housing that supports belonging and wellbeing.
Through story and dialogue, we’ll reflect on key questions shaping the future of housing in Aotearoa:
How do our homes and neighbourhoods influence connection, dignity, and agency?
What defines home and belonging?
How might housing look if designed with women’s needs, values, and wisdom at its heart?
The evening concludes with refreshments and a community kōrero inspired by the performed stories — a space to connect, reflect, and imagine new possibilities together.
