At Riverside Clay Play Club

Designed to let children build a deeper connection with clay over seven weeks. Unlike previous one-off sessions, this program enables kids to develop sensory-motor skills, explore creativity, and enjoy getting their hands messy.

Working with clay allows children to transform a simple lump into art or practical items like bowls and cups—a process they find physically and mentally rewarding. This beginner-friendly workshop emphasises the experience rather than the final product. It's an eco-friendly, calming activity that encourages creativity. Dress your children appropriately, as clay might stain.

You can take your child's creations home immediately with a sturdy container, or leave them with Tanja for finishing (workshop fee covers this), although glazing is not included. An optional glazing session will be available afterward.

If you have one, please bring your own rolling pin (marked with your name).

Limited to 10 children, 8 years and older. This is a drop-off class. Bookings are essential and close Monday, 4th May at 2pm. Book Now

$50 per child for 4 weeks of classes and all materials, as well as the first fire.

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.p options.
