A special September Holiday Programme for Children, based in Nature.

The philosophy and vision of Innature, Nature Education is to foster the child’s lifelong connection to the natural world and themselves. We strongly believe that free-play is essential for mental, physical and emotional health, wellbeing and development. We want to promote independence, confidence, resilience and self-awareness by climbing trees, building huts, scrambling hills, looking for bugs, tool use, fire lighting and letting the children decide where to engage in free-play.

Innature has long term goals to run several different programmes suited to differing clients, however to begin we wish to start with a 2 day a week holiday programme run for 5-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds. Beginning numbers will be small to allow for changes and adaptations in programmes. If the holiday programme runs well we will look to move to an after school programme and/or a whole day programme.

The main facilitator and director of Innature is Anna, a Primary School trained teacher currently working in a Early Childhood Centre in Motueka. She has a Masters in Teaching and Learning and a Graduate Diploma in Sustainability and Outdoor Education as well as a few other qualifications. Innature's other facilitator is a youth worker who has been working in that industry for years. He is Oscar trained and used to run holiday programmes.
