Initiate Connection is a day workshop that encourages participants to step out of their comfort zone and aims to empower them with clarity and consent to dance with more authentic connection.
The workshop incorporates Possibility Management and Open Floor movement practice.
Throughout the day, we will move with conscious consent, learn how to communicate "yes" and "no" through movement, move into and out of dances, identify personal boundaries, and hold space for our own fear of connection. Participants will also learn how to become available for connection and how to initiate it.
To create a safe space for yourself beyond the workshop, we also open the space to bring working with feelings into day-to-day life, to be empowered to listen deeper.
The two intentions of this workshop are to practice availability through dance - becoming open to what life has to offer and creating connections with others.
The second goal is to create opportunities to participate in Contact Improvisation Dance or other movement spaces. In the past, these opportunities may have been avoided due to a lack of confidence, fears of connection, being seen, feeling vulnerable, making mistakes, or being rejected.
Sybille will incorporate conscious anger work to bring centered, grounded, and clear possibilities from her experience as a Rage Club space holder, while Ben will share his expertise in somatic inquiry, movement meditation, and passion for contact improvisation dance and movement therapy.
About Sybille (Founder of 'Embodied Freedom' Movement Practise)
'I am a dedicated edge-worker and a force of nature.
I am using the medicine of movement for self-inquiry and transformation for community and the individual. I am passionate about the power of group work and I love supporting people to do what they are here to do. When I hold space I create a container whereby participants are gently and effectively supported to dance into their inner-unknown.
I offer possibilities for internal shifts and healing. I am passionate about Possibility Management and bring it as movement medicine because it empowers people with practical life tools that are easy to implement into their own daily life; the ability to establish healthy boundaries with conscious anger practise; more clarity of purpose; the changing of old stories; a deeper understanding of the complexity of our being and a centring into your authentic self.
