In these 90 minute classes you will experience the benefits of Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. This yoga series a space to unwind, slow down and go inwards.
Yin Yoga is a slow, soothing meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia and ligaments of the body. It offers increased flexibility, improved joint mobility, reduced stress and anxiety, and better emotional regulation. It also helps to balance the mind and body, and may enhance energy flow through the body. In Yin Yoga we hold mostly passive poses to work into the connective tissue, ligaments, bones, joints and fascia. Each pose is held for 3 minutes.
Restorative Yoga offers numerous physical and mental benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep, enhanced flexibility, pain relief, and emotional balance. It's a gentle practice that supports the body's natural healing mechanisms and promotes overall well-being. It allows us to bring stillness and calmness into our physical body which can transfer to the emotional and mental body. Restorative postures can put you in the perfect position for comfort and ease, which in turn allows space to observe the self and have the ability to begin to practice mindfulness and meditation. In Restorative Yoga we hold each pose for 10 minutes, with the help of props, to support us to really release and let go.
Yoga Nidra offers stress reduction, improved sleep, enhanced focus, and emotional balance. It helps calm the mind, release tension, and promote a deeper state of relaxation, allowing you to fully relax the inner tensions of the body.
Jo is a Qualified Yoga Teacher with 11 years’ experience in teaching.
