In this complete beginner workshop, children will be diluting and mixing paint in little cups to then pour over a canvas – followed by a finishing technique that uses straws to further mix and distribute the paint. Each participant will go home with their own one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Acrylic Pouring is a fascinating fluid painting technique based on acrylic paint, which can be brought into a liquid, pourable consistency with the addition of a pouring medium and other additives as required. Depending on the technique, this liquefied paint is then poured into each other or tilted onto the canvas and distributed by tilting the painting surface. Depending on the choice of paint, the medium, and the additives, different effects are created. The colours and patterns are often stunning and always unique.
Children love the process and will be surprised at the range of patterns and colours they can create, likely wanting to do more at home. This may be the perfect start to your children discovering the magic of art.
No previous drawing or painting skills are required. This session is creative, 100% hands-on and possibly very messy. Please keep in mind that we will be working with acrylic paints that in most cases do not wash out of clothes.
Please bring your own small canvas or board (more details after registration)!
Please note this workshop will be held outside and may have to be postponed or cancelled in the case of rain or heavy wind.
Suited for children 8 years and up. Younger children can attend but must bring an adult to actively work beside them!
Limited to 12 children. Bookings are essential and close Friday, 10th November at 2pm. Book Now
