At Riverside Clay Play Club

Have you ever thought about trying pottery, but not sure if it’s your thing? Good news: it’s not just kids who love working with clay—many adults find the experience relaxing and enjoyable too.

Try clay handbuilding in this clay play workshop for a grounding, calming, and creative workshop experience. It’s hands-on, rhythmic, and lots of fun. This is a great chance to explore clay in depth—especially if you’d like to join one of our longer four-week courses or even become part of the Clay Club. If you prefer, it can also be a one-off session to see what you think.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, Tanja will guide participants as they get to know the clay and make something that’s uniquely theirs.

The session is 100% practical and may get a little messy, so please dress appropriately. Clay stains may not come out of some fabrics.

You can take your unfired work home right away (bring a sturdy cardboard box or large wooden board). Unfired pieces keep but shouldn’t get wet, and they’re fragile and a bit dusty. Alternatively, leave your work with Tanja to be bisque fired—firing is included in the fee, but it can take up to four weeks.

The workshop takes place at our Clay Play Club (off Community Road, opposite the milk vending shed). If you have one, please bring your own rolling pin (with your name on it).
