Creating something with clay using your own hands is an extraordinary experience. You begin with a sticky mound, but with a pinch, roll, or squeeze, it transforms into a stunning piece of art.

In this beginner block course, Tanja will guide participants to explore the tactile nature of clay and craft artistic pieces or practical items through three techniques: pinching, coiling, and slapping. Over the first three weeks, you'll learn each method, allowing ample time to practice. We'll also explore different clay types available locally. In week four, you'll revisit a past project or start anew.

Participants from past workshops appreciated the serene and creative atmosphere, the encouragement to unleash their imagination, and the calming experience of working with clay. Tanja will fire and glaze your creations (a process needing several weeks for drying).

The course fee covers all sessions, firing, and glazing. By course end, you will have foundational clay pottery hand-building skills and perhaps a newfound passion. This engaging, hands-on course can get messy, so wear suitable attire! No prior experience necessary.

Limited to 10 participants. Bookings are essential. $60 total for all sessions per person. Bookings close Tuesday, 11th February at 2pm. Book Now
