At Riverside Community
If you've ever dismissed a plant as a mere weed, prepare to be amazed by this 'Plant Food Medicine' workshop. John Massey, a skilled master gardener, beekeeper, and herbalist, invites you to delve into the world of edible weeds and plant uses.
For over five years, John has been an invaluable tutor, sharing his extensive knowledge of sustainable living with our community. His passion for plants stems from his commitment to healthy eating, natural medicine, and sustainability. He firmly believes that nature and plants are the greatest teachers, offering valuable lessons for all who are willing to listen.
In the lush surroundings of Riverside, join us on a refreshing walk to not only expand your botanical knowledge but also embrace a lifestyle in harmony with nature. By unlocking the wisdom of "common weeds," like stinging nettle, red clover, plantain and so much more, you'll discover their rich reserves of nutrients and healing properties. These treasures are often overlooked and underestimated, making this an opportunity to explore their full potential.
All ages and experience levels are welcome – please equip yourself with suitable footwear and sun protection. BYO lunch and water. The meeting point is in front of our Cultural Center here in Riverside.
As for all of our workshops, registration for this session is essential – please don't just turn up. Book Now Bookings close Friday, 13th October at 2pm.
This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.
