At Riverside Community
The Riverside Community Music and Market Day is a unique event in the heart of New Zealand's oldest intentional community.
It's a celebration of the power of people working, creating and having fun together. After a three-year break from producing and hosting larger events on the land, we hope to re-inspire the community through music, food and crafts, make connections, and strengthen networks with the broader community. As usual, this year's event is inclusive and family-friendly.
The theme for the event is 'Live and Local'. It will feature a variety of healthy, nutritious and delicious food made from sustainably sourced ingredients that will cater for different dietary options and live music performed by several talented local artists.
The lineup includes:
Local youth band 'Imperfect Circle', an instrumental band who have enjoyed sharing their songs and covers at local events since 2020
'Jaime Howell', a talented Open Floor conscious dance facilitator
'Alanjahjah En Da Eagerlings', a reggae band playing original songs composed by Alan De Boeck (Golden Bay) backed by a handful of talented local musicians
Nelson-based 'Genre Fluid' brings its unique blend of live looping and theatre
Local powerhouse 'Kontiki' blends funk, rock, blues, and reggae, and
'Gutter Love', specialising in quirky, alternative, funky punk rock that is as easy to dance to as to sing along with!
