At Riverside Centre (Kotahitanga Room)
Jeux Dramatique is an improvisational theatre form where, using only cloths of various shapes, colors, and sizes as props, children create their own spaces and roles. They act out stories, choosing to be anything from a stone or the sun to an animal or person, fostering unlimited imagination.
The three theatre workshop sessions encourage children to delve into social roles through stories, like a bear nursing a sick tiger, helping them understand concepts like 'giving' and 'receiving.' Short relaxation exercises and fun games are included to enhance the experience.
Barbara, who studied acting and theatre pedagogy in Berlin, has extensive experience in various projects, including a touring children's circus in Germany. She focuses on group dynamics, creativity, and social learning, ensuring a fun and enriching process over the final performance.
Living in Mahana with her partner and two children for the past four years, Barbara also works with pregnant women and their families as a doula and antenatal class teacher. Her passion for theatre and circus promises a creative experience for your children.
To gain the full benefit, attendance at all three sessions is requested. Please dress children in neutral, plain-colored clothes.
