Become a zinester—express yourself and share your voice through zines!

A zine is a short, community-oriented mini publication (like a fanzine): creative, self-made, and typically non-commercial. It’s a powerful way to get your ideas outside mainstream media—without algorithms—while building connection through tangible keepsakes.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll turn your thoughts into a zine using just one sheet of paper. You’ll create an original “master flat” (easy to photocopy if you want) and bind your pages into a simple pamphlet using folds, sewing, tape, or staples.

Write poems, lists, jokes, stories, or observations—and pair them with drawings, photos, collages, found objects, or any mix of words and images. Your zine can be narrative, journalistic, comic-like, or abstract—your choice!

Bring paper, pictures, or texts you’d like to use; all other materials are provided.

This workshop will take place in the Riverside Centre.
