Once again Riverside Community Trust Board will host its popular Music Festival in the heart of Riverside Community, New Zealand's oldest intentional community. (For more info on Riverside: About Us)

This years's Festival theme is Climate Emergency, and the event will feature activities, artists and activists supporting positive action in response to the climate crisis. The festival is a multimedia, multicultural extravaganza offering free workshops, info stalls and advise on sustainable living, reducing and sequestering carbon emissions, protecting biodiversity, community resilience and on how to counter dooms-day prophets and climate crisis depression.

Riverside Music Festival intents to uplift and inspire, welcoming some of the best local, national and international musicians on and off stage. A day filled with theatre, poetry, magic, visual art, physical theatre, circus and with many great activities for children, including the famous Riverside Water Slide and pony rides. Through interactive workshops, music and theatre, young people will have the chance to reflect on the issues our planet is facing, and explore ways of making a positive difference.

All food and craft stalls will focus on products made from local resources and the vendors will give people the opportunity to learn about their philosophy and the choices they are making in relation to the climate emergency. A variety of healthy, nutritious and delicious food made from sustainabely sourced ingredients will cater for different dietary options. Of course, we will also offer some of Riverside's own delightful products

The event is supported by local Extinction Rebellion and promises to be a unique event, celebrating the power of co-operation and creativity and inspiring positive, collective and individual action in response to the climate crisis. Our exciting artists, performers and activists include: Kallidad, Rabbit Hole, Tommy And The Fallen Horses, Soul Kitchen, Tillerman, The Rubbish Trip, Extinction Rebellion, InsideOut Physical Theatre, and many more.

Bring your friends and family and enjoy the special ambience of our beautiful Riverside Music Festival. Be inspired, learn, dance, sing, play, eat and connect with others in a family-friendly setting. Let’s get together; together we can make a change!
