Barbara Knewtiz, a trained actor and theatre teacher with years of experience working across all age groups, invites women to join a collaborative creative exploration. This group will delve into stories, ideas, bodies, words, questions, and dreams through performance.

Theatre and performances sessions will incorporate creative writing, storytelling, and performance techniques. Participants might write, improvise, experiment with voice and body, develop characters, share stories, and play with ideas — embracing both excitement and discomfort along the way.

The journey begins with Monday sessions from 6 to 7pm at the Riverside Meeting Room. These initial gatherings offer a chance to connect, explore, and determine if the group wishes to continue. For those interested in going deeper, sessions may extend and focus toward creating a performance for venues like Fringe Festival, Nelson Arts Festival, Komitimiti, or Coalesce Festival.

This offering centers on group process, valuing each person's unique abilities, experiences, and perspectives. Barbara provides the framework and facilitation rather than a predetermined vision.

No theatre or performance experience is required. What matters is curiosity, openness, and willingness to step outside comfort zones.

A $10 contribution supports Riverside Charitable Trust's hosting and administration and Koha for the tutor on the day is appreciated.
